71 accused persons involved in social crimes arrested in the month of February | KNO

Srinagar, February 28 (KNO) : Jammu and Kashmir Police in its fight against social crimes and to save the youth of the valley, has arrested 71 accused persons involved in different social crimes which includes 24 drug peddlers, 44 gamblers and 03 bootleggers in Kashmir Valley in the month of February.

The fight against these crimes will continue to make the Valley free from such crimes, as the youth of the valley are being diverted to spoil their future by indulging in these activities. Contraband substances which includes more than 600 bottles of codeine phosphate, more than 7700 capsules/tablets of Spasmoproxyvan, about 02.80 Kilograms of Charas, 05 Kilograms of cannabis, 166 bottles of illicit liquor, besides, about 98,000 rupees of stake money was recovered. Many vehicles involved in these crimes were also seized by J&K Police. Pertinent to mention that J&K Police has established Drug De-Addiction centers in South, Central and North Kashmir where drug addicted youth are being treated and counselled by experts to get rid from drugs. The youth of the valley are voluntarily visiting these centers for counselling and treatment.

In order to save the youth of the Kashmir Valley, Jammu and Kashmir Police needs help of the general public to fight against these crimes.
